PAN/TiO2 Ultrafiltration Membrane for Enhanced BSA Removal and Antifouling Performance

Membrane separation has been widely utilized to eliminate pollutants from wastewater. Among them, a polyacrylonitrile (PAN) ultrafiltration (UF) membrane presented outstanding stability, and distinguished chemical thermal properties. However, UF membranes inevitably incur fouling issues during their operation procedure caused by contaminant adhesion on the surface, which would restrict operational efficiency increase maintenance cost. The conventional physical cleaning is not an effective technique reduce due additional addition inevitable structure damage. Recently, combined with photocatalytic materials are suggested be useful approach conquer issues. Herein, TiO2 nanoparticles were blend PAN casting solution for fabricating composite via phase inversion method. With certain addition, obtained enhancement of hydrophilicity, could promote water permeability antifouling performance. optimized M3 prepared 15.0 wt% 0.6 exhibited excellent up 207.0 L m−2 h−1 bar−1 99.0% BSA rejection superior property.
